I arrive in Seville, Spain back in 1970 to study Medicine, after a year I moved to Santiago de Compostela to continue my Medical studies.  In my first month in Santiago I meet few Martial Arts enthusiast while training at a local park, one the son of the Police Chief and the other the son of the Commandant in charge of the Military base in Santiago.  We became good friend and I was offered to train in both Police and Military gym facilities.  They  introduced me to other of their friends and before we knew we have a small class of 10 students training daily between 2 to 3 hrs.

At the Police and Military facilities, many of the officers and personal showed interest in taking classes.  It was arrange for me to teach techniques in self defense, weapons training and combat technics to the officers and military personel.

After a year the 1st. Shorei-kan Karate Dojo was  established in Santiago de Compostela, an independent Dojo  from the Police and Military facilities with 60 registered students in 2 classes daily Monday to Saturday.  The Dojo under my supervision operated until my departure back to the States.
